Flat Ribbon Cable Assemblies
A ribbon cable, also known as a flat ribbon cable or planar cable, is a wide, flat cable made with multiple conductors arranged side by side in the same plane. This parallel conductor structure keeps the cable low-profile and easy to route, making it suitable for internal wiring where organized signal transmission and space efficiency are important.
SAISONIC provides standard and custom flat ribbon cable assemblies for compact electronic equipment and internal wiring applications. The most commonly used pitch is 0.050 inch, or 1.27 mm, while finer or wider pitches can be customized to suit the required connector type, wiring layout, and installation space.
Various conductor counts, wire gauges, colors, shielding options, and termination methods are available to meet different electrical and mechanical requirements. These assemblies can be configured with IDC sockets, IDC transition headers, D-sub connectors, or crimp-style connectors to improve wiring organization, installation efficiency, and connection reliability in complex or space-constrained applications.
